Spots and patches on the face can be very embarrassing. Black/dark spots are most common on the face because of a lot of factors that can be tackled through safe, natural methods using home remedies largely made up of organic ingredients. Spots and patches on the face can be embarrassing and even lead to low self-esteem.
These natural home remedies can safely and easily lighten and eliminate the dark patches.
Yogurt: Yogurt helps you to lighten brown spots in a natural way. Apply plain yogurt directly on the age spots and let it to dry for 20 minutes and then wash it with cold water. To get results instantly apply yogurt on the dark spots before going sleeping and leave it overnight. You can make a face pack by mixing 1 tbsp of plain yogurt, 2 tbsp of oatmeal powder and 1 tsp of fresh lemon juice. Apply this pack onto the affected skin and leave it for about half an hour. Apply any moisturizer, after rinsing it off with cold water. Repeat this every day for 1 – 2 months to get best results.
Lemon: Lemon, a citric fruit, acts as a natural bleaching agent. Applying lemon juice on the dark spots and affected areas is one of the best home remedies for treating dark spots on the face.
Onions and garlic juice mixture: Using onion and garlic juice mixture is an excellent remedy to remove dark spots. Regular application will help lighten the spots and gradually help fade them off completely. Take out the juice of onion and garlic, mix these two well together. Now apply the juice on the dark spots on your face, leave this on for about 15 minutes. Wash it off thoroughly until the smell goes.
Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera has healing powers and this helps the dark spots to fade slowly and effectively. You can apply the goodness of aloe vera in various ways. You can use the aloe vera gel directly from the plant or you can apply aloe vera juice. You can also apply some herbal cream that has been enriched with the goodness of aloe vera.
Oats: Oatmeal powder is considered good for skin exfoliation, you can apply an oatmeal mask on your face and neck to remove dead skin and black spots. Grind half a cup of rolled oats. Add three to four tablespoons of lemon juice to make a paste, scrub it on your skin and wash it off with warm water when it dries. If it becomes messy, use a clean cloth soaked in warm water to remove the mask. Follow this treatment once or twice a week.
Almonds: Take 8-10 almonds and soak them in milk overnight. Peel off the skin and grind the almonds in the morning, add one teaspoon sandalwood powder and half a teaspoon honey in it. Mix them to make a fine paste, apply it on your face. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then wash it off.
Papaya: The enzymes in papaya can help even out skin tone and aid in fading black spots. For example, papaya contains papain, an enzyme that exfoliates the skin encouraging production of new, fresher-looking skin. There are two ways that you can use papaya. Apply the pulp of ripe papaya to the skin and leave it on for about 20 minutes; then rinse it off.
Another option is to grate green papaya and add lime juice to it. Apply this mixture to black spots and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. You can also use papaya skin as an excellent scrub for knees and elbows.
